Inkjet printers are ideal if you do a lot of printing for home and craft projects. Although color laser jet printers are available, and they have come down in price somewhat, they still can’t compete with the low price of a high quality inkjet printer. Ink cartridges are readily available at every major office supply store, and are much cheaper than replacing a toner cartridge. If you invest in an inkjet printer you’ll find that it is more affordable to print color than it is with a laser printer.

Some will argue that laser printers are better if you are producing mass copies. While this is true, the buyer should consider how often they’ll need to produce mass copies. Is the printer being used as a copier and churning out hundreds of pages every week? If so, then laser might be the better way to go. However, for many people this is usually not the case. If the printer will be used for the most part for printing here and there and then an occasional large job, such as a Christmas letter. If this is the case that it might be better to purchase a ink printer. For infrequent large copy jobs, it might be better to take them to the copy shop and have them printed there.

Consider carefully how you will use your printer before purchasing it. This will allow you to make the best decision for your family, and invest confidently in the printer that will be right for you.
